Link is able to offer clients an alternative to trading directly on exchange by acting as the intermediary and negotiating on their behalf with other market participants.
Once a trade is agreed, buyer and seller may execute the trade directly with each other in an 'over the counter' capacity; or Link will act for both counterparties on a 'matched principal' basis, executing the trade on exchange and giving up the trade to buyer and seller using the relevant clearing system. In markets or for products where there is no official exchange operating, Link uses its diverse customer base to replicate the benefits of an exchange.
Many of our brokers have a trading background, and this experience enables us to provide an independent, efficient and knowledgeable service. We continue to increase market share where we operate and develop new markets where there is a demand. Since incorporation in 1997 we have established ourselves as a market leader.
